Abstract

Introduction: The main factor causing stunting is food intake including breast milk and complementary foods that are not in accordance with recommended practices regarding timing, frequency and quality. Therefore it is very necessary to provide information about MP-ASI to mothers under five so that the mother's knowledge and attitude in giving MP-ASI increases. Objective: To study the effect of video media on changing knowledge and attitudes of under-aged mothers aged 6-24 months about MP-ASI in Paiton Village, Probolinggo Regency. Method: Pre-experimental research type with One Group Pre-test design and Post-test design. The sampling technique used purposive sampling with a sample of 22 children aged 6-24 months. Changes in knowledge and attitudes before and after being given a video about complementary feeding were tested using the Paired Samples T-test. Result: The results of this study indicate that there is an effect of providing media videos about complementary feeding on knowledge and attitudes with p=0.000 < α=0.05. Video media has more influence on changes in knowledge.. Conclusion: Video media about MP-ASI has a significant influence on the knowledge and attitudes of under-aged mothers aged 6-24 months in Paiton Village, Probolinggo Regency.
