Abstract

From the lipid fraction of a freeze-dried cell mass of a strain of the Mycobacterium avium-Mycobacterium intracellulare complex, a new glycolipid was isolated and was characterized as 5-mycoloyl-α-arabinofuranosyl (1→)- glycerol, mainly on the basis of nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy studies.
