Abstract
In this paper, we present a high-speed, small form-factor, C-band, dual-polarization I/Q modulator for coherent transmission. The silicon ring-resonator-based modulator, based on coupling modulation via a traveling-wave Mach-Zehnder modulator, is co-packaged with SiGe drivers. We demonstrate an 802.6 Gbps net data rate transmission via 78-km standard single-mode fiber with 90-GBaud probabilistically shaped (PS)-64-QAM modulation.
