Abstract

Data from Iceland are presented which give further support to a previously documented association of near‐sightedness with scholastic ability. In particular there seems to be a link between myopia and mathematical inclination. The family distribution of near‐sightedness is consistent with recessive inheritance, both in randomly selected groups and in relatives of honor students. © 1973 Mendelian Society of Lund
