Abstract

A lot of turbulence models are based on the turbulent viscosity concept.This results in theintroduction of a non uniform diffusion process in the Navier Stokesequations. The aim of thiswork is to investigate the capability of some existing particle modellingto solve this kind of problem.Three different methods have been selected, the Strength ExchangeMethod, the Random VortexMethod and the Diffusion Velocity Method. All three methods have beentested on the problemof the turbulent transport of a passive scalar in a jet.
