Abstract

This research examines the thermomechanical buckling characteristics of a smart sandwich nanoplate with a hexachiral auxetic core and electro-elastic surfaces, employing non-local strain gradient elasticity and higher-order shear deformation theory. The research demonstrates the influence of the core layer's geometric ratios on dimensionless frequency values. Furthermore, the influence of various boundary conditions on buckling stability is assessed, revealing that the critical buckling temperature diminishes as electric potential increases. The research highlights how the interplay of thermal loads and electric fields affects mechanical stability, underscoring the necessity of optimizing the performance of auxetic structures under dynamic loads. These structures are regarded as significant contenders for the advancement of new materials, particularly in aerospace, biomedical engineering, and protective equipment.
