Abstract

Superconducting magnets have enabled great progress and multiple fundamental discoveries in the field of high-energy physics. This chapter reviews the use of superconducting magnets in particle accelerators, introduces Nb3Sn superconducting accelerator magnets, and describes their main challenges.
