Abstract

This article reflects on the appropriateness and suitability of the use of models and techniques of family therapy in the context of Social Services. This examines the legal and regulatory justifying family therapy, outlines the technical reasons that suggest why and wherefore of family psychotherapy as well as some of the theoretical models that give context or frame to such practices. Apuntes de Psicología, 27, 377-394.El presente artículo reflexiona sobre la oportunidad e idoneidad del uso de modelos y técnicas de terapia familiar en el contexto de los Servicios Sociales. Para ello se analizan los fundamentos legales y normativos que justifican el tratamiento familiar, se exponen las razones técnicas que sugieren el por qué y para qué de la psicoterapia familiar, así como algunos de los modelos teóricos que dan marco o encuadre a estas prácticas.
