Abstract

In the present study, graft nano co-polymer was synthesized from phthalic anhydride and glycerol. The prepared nano-polymer was characterized by infrared spectroscopy FT-IR, atomic force microscopy technique (AFM), X-ray diffraction analysis (XRD) and differential scanning calorimetry (DSC). Tendency of fabricated nano-polymer to adsorb methylene blue from aqueous solutions was evaluated. The average height size of nano-polymer was found to be 3.3â nm. The effect of three different temperatures (298, 308 and 318â K) and concentrations (1, 3 and 5â ppm) of nano-polymer was studied. The results of the study clearly indicated that synthesized nano-polymer was found to very efficient for complete removal of methylene blue from aqueous solution.
