Abstract

The aim of this paper is to carry out a systematization of the various features characterizing theatre which are assumed by film. What comes first, is an explanation of how interferences between both media constantly happened (not only one way) and a set up of the characteristics they adopted in different periods. Subsequently, a classification is set of the various ways in which theatrality shows in film, also by alleging several examples briefly commented. A total of 10 possible types of film theatrality are differentiated, which could be group in two subgroups, depending on whether theatrality affects the formal level (types 1-6) or interferes in the content of the film (types 7-10). © UNED.
