Abstract

In a thermosensitive isoleucyl‐tRNA synthetase mutant (ilsl‐1) of Saccharomyces cerevisiae where only the charge of isoleucyl‐tRNA measured in vivo is reduced, enzymes from the isoleucine but also arginine and histidine biosyntheses are derepressed. The ilsl‐1 mutant shows the same behaviour as a leaky auxotrophic mutant, although no amino acid pool is lower than in the wild‐type. Copyright © 1976, Wiley Blackwell. All rights reserved
