Thermal Conductivity of Hybrid Nanofluids and Their Application in Heat Transfer Augmentation

Abstract

A hybrid nanofluid is a mixture of two or more nanoparticles in a base fluid. In this article effect of using hybrid nanofluid on the thermal conductivity of base fluid has been discussed and found that Hybrid nanofluids enhances the thermal conductivity of base fluid. On the basis of correlation given by various researchers it has been found that thermal conductivity increases with the increase in concentration and temperature. Hybrid nanofluids have also been proposed as a good choice as a working fluid in heat transfer devices such as heat exchangers.
