Abstract

A dermatologic emergency is defined as a situation in which the patient has a skin problem that needs immediate attention. In dermatology there are few emergencies, among them are the urticaria, angioedema, toxic epidermal necrolysis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome, staphylococcal scalded skin syndrome, autoimmune blistering diseases, such as pemphigus, pemphigoid and exfoliative erythroderma. This paper describes the most common dermatological emergencies as well as their management and treatment.
