Abstract
In Latin America, although poverty and inequality have been declining in general terms, this has been at an increasingly slow and uneven pace. In fact, we can still find especially vulnerable populations due to age, ethnicity or gender. Therefore, the aim of this research is to analyse the evolution of poverty, inequality and vulnerability in Latin America during the period 2000-2020. The research hypothesis is that economic growth and social policies have capacity to reduce poverty and inequality. However, for this to be sustainable, it is necessary to create quality and inclusive jobs and that social policies be institutionalized in a welfare state.
