Abstract

In the article by Ghali et al, "IL-33 (Interleukin 33)/sST2 Axis in Hypertension and Heart Failure" which published online on August 27, 2018, and appeared in the October 2018 issue of the journal (Hypertension. 2018;72:818-828. DOI: 10.1161/HYPERTENSIONAHA.118.11157), corrections are needed. The incorrect phrase, suppression of tumorigenicity 2, was associated with ST2/sST2 in the title, text, Table footnote, and Figure 2 legend where the term was defined. ST2 and sST2 are encoded by the IL1RL1 gene (interleukin 1 receptor-like 1), which should not to be confused with the suppression of tumorigenicity 2 gene. Consequntly, the title that formerly read, "IL-33 (Interleukin 33)/sST2 (Soluble Suppression of Tumorigenicity 2) Axis in Hypertension and Heart Failure" is now corrected to read, "IL-33 (Interleukin 33)/sST2 Axis in Hypertension and Heart Failure." The second sentence of the text that read, "It signals via the ST2 (suppression of tumorigenicity 2) receptor, which is also expressed as a truncated and soluble form that acts as a decoy receptor soluble ST2 (sST2)" is now corrected to read, "It signals via the ST2 receptor, which is also expressed as a truncated and soluble form that acts as a decoy receptor soluble ST2 (sST2)." The expansion is also removed from the Figure 2 legend and Table footnote. The authors apologize for these errors. The corrections have been made to the current online version of the article, which is available at https://www.ahajournals.org/doi/pdf/10.1161/ HYPERTENSIONAHA.118.11157.
