Abstract

This scientific article aims to describe the communication strategies currently used in sports journalism, also making a comparison with those used in the past. For this, the most widely used and / or widely accepted means of communication to promote sport were identified; as well as the style of the most outstanding sports narrators in the city of Guayaquil, especially, and some national references were described. The methodology was descriptive and documentary type, reviewing scientific articles, bibliographic texts and electronic media, such as news portals, blog, web pages and social networks. The information collected allows us to affirm that the sports journalism that is carried out in these times is characterized by making use of the show or show to differentiate oneself from other narrators, when compared to the style of the narrators of 20 or 30 years ago, those of today They demonstrate a lack of professionalism and little knowledge of cultural and social issues, in addition to showing a hint of reading and general culture. Current communication strategies highlight sport as a lucrative spectacle, beyond the importance of this discipline in the human and social development of a country.
