Percepção de integridade científica para o estudante de medicina

Abstract

Este trabalho objetivou conhecer a percepção do estudante de Medicina sobre integridade científica, discutir a necessidade de abordar a temática na formação de pesquisadores eticamente responsáveis e esclarecer a importância da existência de práticas educacionais que objetivem a educação ética na formação desse estudante. Tratou-se de um estudo de abordagem qualitativa, utilizando a técnica de análise temática. Os dados foram coletados por meio de entrevista semiestruturada, definindo-se três unidades de análise de dados: o conhecimento do estudante sobre o sistema CEP/Conep, a percepção dos estudantes sobre integridade científica e desonestidade científica, e a abordagem do tema integridade científica no currículo médico. Foi evidenciada a necessidade de abordagem mais efetiva sobre o sistema CEP/Conep. De igual forma, o tema integridade científica parece ser pouco discutido no meio acadêmico, o que pode gerar a prática de condutas inadequadas na produção científica por falta de reconhecimento das mesmas pelos discentes. A associação de teoria e prática no ensino da integridade científica é fundamental, devendo este tema ser inserido precocemente no currículo médico.This study aimed to investigate the medical student's perception of scientific integrity, to discuss the need to address this topic throughout the education of ethically responsible researchers and to clarify the importance of educational practices that aim at ethically educating this student. This was a qualitative study, using the technique of thematic analysis. Data were collected through semi-structured interviews, by setting up three units of data analysis: the student's knowledge about the CEP/Conep system (Research Ethics Committee/National Commission for Research Ethics system), the perception of students about scientific integrity and scientific dishonesty, and approach to the theme of scientific integrity in the medical curriculum. This study showed the need for a more effective approach on the CEP/Conep system. Similarly, the theme of scientific integrity seems to be little discussed in the academic environment which can lead to the practice of scientific misconduct due to lack of recognition of it by students. The combination of theory and practice in the teaching of scientific integrity is essential; this issue should be inserted early in the medical curriculum.
