Abstract

The aim of this research was to analyze the participation of civil society in the public policies for sports and leisure of the Municipal Sports and Leisure Foundation of Campo Grande-MS, with emphasis in the structuring of the Campo-grandense Sports and Leisure System. This is a descriptive research with a qualitative approach, based on documentary analysis and semi-structured interviews with Physical Education teachers working at the Municipal Sports and Leisure Foundation. The results indicate an increase in civil society participation since 2017. However, despite this growth, participation still occurs in a limited manner, with low autonomy and independence for proposing public policies. It is concluded that there is a need for organizational change in the decision-making instances of the Campo-grandense Sports and Leisure System is pertinent, aiming to ensure civil society participation in deliberations and not only in the consultative sphere.
