Altas habilidades/superdotação e deficiência: reflexões sobre o duplo estigma

Abstract

A produção de estigmas em pessoas com alguma marca considerada desvalorizada pelos padrões sociais é antiga. As pessoas com deficiência, inseridas no rol dos visivelmente marcados, eram e são estigmatizadas por não condizerem aos padrões exigidos pelo modelo social. Na mesma situação, as pessoas com indicadores de altas habilidades/superdotação igualmente carregam consigo os preconceitos, rótulos e discriminações por sua diferença. Assim, o objetivo deste artigo é trazer a reflexão sobre a possibilidade das pessoas possuírem duplicidade de necessidades educacionais especiais (DNEE), quais sejam: altas habilidades/superdotação e deficiência, e com isso a condição do duplo estigma. A metodologia adotada no presente artigo se deu por meio de pesquisas bibliográficas e documentais. Os resultados indicam que há escassez de estudos sobre a DNEE e que os estudantes com essa condição matriculados nas escolas brasileiras podem apresentar a duplicidade de estigma.The production of stigma in individuals with some mark considered devalued by social standard is old. The individuals with disabilities, in the list of the visibly marked ones, were and are stigmatized because they do not match the demanded standard for a social model. In the same situation, the individuals with characteristics of high abilities/giftedness also carry on with themselves prejudices, labels and discrimination because of their differences. In this way, the aim of this paper is to reflect about the possibility of individuals to have twice special education needs (TSEN), which are: high abilities/giftedness and disability, and with this, the situation of twice stigma. The methodology used in the present paper was conducted by bibliographical and documental researches. The results indicate that there is scarceness of studies about TSEN and the students in this condition enrolled in the Brazilian schools might present the twice stigma.
