Abstract
In order to improve the design reliability of metal diaphragm for compartment double-pulse solid rocket motor(SRM), the effects of the metal diaphragm materials and some structural parameters on the opening performance of metal diaphragm in double-pulse SRM were analyzed and studied by using the explicit dynamic simulation method, and the opening test device for metal diaphragm was designed. The opening tests of aluminum circular folded-edge diaphragm structure and red-copper octagonal folded-edge diaphragm structure were carried out respectively. The calculation results show that (1)When the metal diaphragm is opened, the limit angle of breaking and flying out of red-copper diaphragm with high elongation is about 1.7 times that of aluminum diaphragm, which can better prevent fragment from flying out during the diaphragm opening; (2)The depth of weakened groove of metal diaphragm affect its opening performance, which the deeper the weakened groove of metal diaphragm is, the lower the opening pressure of metal diaphragm is; (3)Comparing with the circular folded-edge structure, the octagonal folded-edge structure has a larger limit angle of breaking and flying, which is increased by about 14%, and the structure is more complete. The test results of diaphragm opening are consistent with the simulation results.
