Abstract
The use of single tooth implant restoration in anterior and lateral regions is increasing . Replacing single missing teeth especially in the anterior region has always been a challenge for clinicians and dental technicians .With the advent of single tooth implant restoration ;an acceptable alternative is identified .Implant abutment must meet biological, functional and esthetic requirements . Biological and mechanical implant-abutment connection complications and failures are still present in clinical practice, frequently compromising oral function. Abutment screw loosening has occurred with many of other designs used for single tooth implant .The purpose of this review is to highlight the mode of failure as well as the reasons. Clinical cases, experimental and non-experimental studies were included, as well as literature reviews.
