Abstract

We introduce extended tropicalizations for closed subvarieties of toric varieties and show that the analytification of a quasprojective variety over a nonarchimedean field is naturally homeomorphic to the inverse limit of the tropicalizations of its quasiprojective embeddings. © International Press 2009.
