Abstract
In order to examine the manner of iron uptake from the medium, in vitro culture of moss Bryum argenteum Hedw. (Bryaceae) was established. Under controlled conditions (16h light/8h dark, light intensity 47?mol m-2s-1 25?2?C), the moss was grown on basal MS medium or on MS medium enriched with various concentrations of ferri(III)citrate or potassium hexacyanoferrate(III). It was expected that with the organic chelate complex, Fe(III) ion will be more available for the plant. Sixty days after establishing in vitro culture, the plants grown on MS medium enriched with the ferri(III)citrate complex were developed better than plants grown on media with the potassium hexacyanoferrate(III) complex. To judge from plant production in vitro and in view of the fact that the two compounds were the only source of Fe(III), it would appear that the citrate complex makes Fe(III) ions more available than potassium hexacyanoferrate(III). Further research will examine the concentrations of Fe ion uptake by plants and potential use of these tiny moss plants for the phytomining, phytoremedies and hyperaccumulating purposes.In vitro kultura mahovine Bryum argenteum Hedw. (Bryaceae) je uspostavljena na podlozi Murashige i Skoog (MS), pri cemu je pracen proces usvajanja gvozdja iz hranljive podloge. Kulture in vitro su rasle u uslovima dugog dana (16 h dan/8 h noc), na temperaturi od 25?2?C, pri vlaznosti vazduha od 60-70% i na svetlosti intenziteta 47 ?mol m-2s-1. Mahovina Bryum argenteum je rasla na MS bazalnoj podlozi (bez dodatka biljnih hormona) ili na MS podlozi kojoj su dodati gvozdje (III) citrat ili kalijum-heksacijanoferat (III). Ocekivano je da ce Fe3+ jon biti dostupniji biljci u vidu organskog helatnog kompleksa. Rezultati su praceni 60 dana nakon uspostavljanja in vitro kulture. Biljke koje su rasle na podlozi kojoj su dodate razlicite koncentracije gvozdje (III) citrata bolje su se razvijale u poredjenju sa biljkama koje su rasle u prisustvu kalijum-heksacijanoferata (III). Na osnovu dobijenih rezultata zakljucuje se da biljke efikasnije usvajaju Fe3 jone u obliku citratnog kompleksa. Buduca istrazivanja bice usmerena u pravcu proucavanja opsega koncentracija Fe3+ jona koje su biljke u mogucnosti da usvajaju kao i o mogucnostima koriscenja ove vrste mahovine u procesima fitoremedijacije i hiperakumulacije.
