An Interpretation Music Teacher Training according to Vroom’s Expectation Theory

Abstract

This study aims to reveal the expectations of candidate music teachers (n=170), concerning teacher training. The study was performed using a descriptive methodology. A survey, usinga 5-point Likert-type scale, was used toreveal how the training program corresponds with the students' vocational targets and expectations. The data were assessed using percentage, frequency, arithmetic average, standard deviation, ttest, analysis of variance and chi-square. The findings were analyzed according tothe expectancy theory proposed byVroom.
