Abstract

Free space optical communication (FSO) is cost effective and potential technology for realization of transmission in hilly areas and for roof top communication in congested areas. In this work, a 32 channel WDM system employing polarization diversity technique is proposed in free space optical communication. Atmospheric turbulences plays vital role in system performance such as clear weather, haze and rain. Investigation has been done for different turbulences and effects are analysed. It is observed that system performs worst and better in case of rain and clear weather respectively.
