Abstract

A tangentially viewing soft x-ray camera system is to be installed on the Large Helical Device (LHD). This camera system is aimed at exploring both detailed structures of the magnetic surfaces of the LHD plasma and helical islands induced either due to magnetic field errors or MHD instabilities.
