Abstract

The composition, biosynthesis and role of wax esters in zooplankton including calanoids and krill is reviewed together with their transformation to triacylglycerols in zooplanktonivorous fish. A special role for 22:l(n-ll) alkyl units is indicated. © 1981, Walter de Gruyter. All rights reserved.
