Abstract

Greek honeybees were characterized electrophoretically at 15 loci. Genetic variability at Mdh-I and Est loci differentiates among the populations of Isle of Kriti, Peloponnesus and part of continental Greece, and northern Greece, where a transition zone to Carniolan honeybees was detected.
