Molecular equilibrium with condensation

Abstract

Minimization of the ***Gibbs*** ***energy*** of formation for species of chem. elements and compds. in their gas and condensed phases dets. their relative abundances in a mixt. in chem. equil. The procedure is more general and more powerful than previous abundance detns. in multiphase astrophys. mixts. Some results for astrophys. equations of state are presented, and the effects of condensation on opacity are briefly indicated.
