The . Abstract This study aimed to demonstrate the role of financial analysis tools in making decisions of granting loans to the clients in Jordanian commercial and Islamic banks operating in Aqaba Special Economic Zone . The study concluded that the bank credit departments at these banks rely on the tools and techniques of financial analysis when receiving customer requests and sorting it for thegrantingofcredit.However,theroleofthebankcreditdepartmentsatthesebanksisnotenabledasrequiredandisdominatedbymarketingnaturemorethancreditstanding,whereitsroleislimitedtopromotingbankingservicesthroughreceivingclientrequests,sortingandsendingthemtomaincentersconcernedwithmakinggrantingloansdecision.ThestudyhasrecommendedthenecessityofactivatingtheroleofthesesectionsaswellasdevelopingthestaffskillsofthosesectionstousefinancialanalysistoolsandgivingcreditdepartmentsatbanksoperatingwithinAqabaSpecialEconomicZonethenecessaryauthoritiestomakedecisionstograntcustomerscreditthroughtheapplicationoffinancialanalysismethods.Moreoveritisnecessarytostimulateandencouragethecreditdepartment'sstaffinthesebanksbygivingthembonusesandrewardingtheirdedicationandtheirhonesty,whichwillenhancethemutualtrustbetweendepartments'staffandthemanagersinthesebanks.
