Abstract

Some vinyl polymers/montmorillonite nanocomposites were prepd. via in-situ-atom transfer radical polymn. (ATRP) in presence of clay. Me methacrylate, styrene and Bu methacrylate were involved in the formation of such polymeric nanocomposites. Their dielec. properties were extensively studied to invest them in the a.c. power applications. Several dielec. parameters such as dielec. const. loss (ϵ") and a.c. cond. (σ) were measured at both different frequencies (0.1 Hz to 100 KHz) and temp. ranged from (20°C to 90°C). From the dielec. results, it was realized that the dielec. a.c. cond. was enhanced by increasing the temp. for the four prepd. polymer nanocomposites. [on SciFinder(R)]
