Abstract

Communication jobs live in a constant state of debate about their identity and role. With the advent of digital technologies, this debate has intensified and there are those who even deny the need for these professionals. This article discusses the main arguments for and against employing communication professionals and concludes with optimistic projections as a result of the emerging hyperconnected environment which will open many career opportunities for communication specialists.
