Abstract

The article describes the findings of a case study to improve of university teaching practice through reflection and establishment of a professional community of practice in the Degree in Pedagogy in the University of Oviedo. For this purpose, the methodology of Lesson Study becomes the main axis of the research about the best strategies to work with a group of 98 students in the analysis and elaboration of audiovisual messages with a gender approach. The qualitative techniques of information collection used are observation, the diaries of field, interviews and a final discussion group. The research process proves the effectiveness of this methodology when it comes to understanding and reconstructing the practical knowledge of university professors about the teaching and learning process and, at the same time, opens new questions and improvement areas did not identify beforemáximo.
