Abstract

We have analytically considered the way of high-order lateral modes suppression in edge-emitting lasers by integrating into the cavity a spectral filter based on the set of etched micrometer-size features. We have found optimal features location and numerically calculated their spectral and loss properties for single-mode laser and investigated the effect robustness against size fluctuation. © 2012 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co.
