Abstract
Tuak is a traditional alcoholic drink produced locally in Bali. The alcohol content in palm wine is around 4%. Continuous consumption of palm wine will certainly pose a risk to kidney health. One of the laboratory tests to assess kidney function is by examining serum creatinine levels. This study aims to determine the effect of palm wine on serum creatinine. The design of this research is a cross-sectional study on palm wine drinkers in the Brahmana Banjar Sangeh Village, Badung Regency. The research sample was mostly men who drank palm wine, totaling 37 people. Method for checking serum creatinine levels using the Jaffe Reaction. The results showed high serum creatinine levels of 54% and normal creatinine levels of 46%. Based on age group, high creatinine levels are highest, in the age group (54-66) years as much as 24-32%. Based on the amount of palm wine consumed, the highest levels of high creatinine occurred in the medium category (> 1-4 bottles/ 620ml-2,480ml) namely 37.8%. %. This research concludes that the majority of palm wine drinkers have high creatinine levels. ABSTRAK Tuak merupakan salah satu minuman tradisional beralkohol produksi lokal Bali. Kandungan alkohol pada tuak sekitar 4%. Konsumsi tuak secara terus menerus tentunya akan beresiko terhadap kesehatan ginjal. Salah satu pemeriksaan laboratorium untuk menilai fungsi ginjal adalah melalui pemeriksaan kadar kreatinin serum. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui gambaran efek minuman tuak terhadap kreatinin serum. Desain penelitian ini adalah crossectional study pada peminum tuak di Banjar Brahmana Desa Sangeh, Kabupaten Badung. Sampel penelitian sebagian besar laki-laki peminum tuak sebanyak 37 orang. Metode pemeriksaan kadar kreatinin serum dengan Jaffe Reaction. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan kadar kreatinin serum tinggi sebanyak 54% dan kadar kreatinin normal 46%. Berdasarkan kelompok umur, kadar kreatinin tinggi terbanyak, pada kelompok usia (54-66) tahun sebanyak 24-32%. Berdasarkan jumlah konsumsi tuak, kadar kreatinin tinggi terbanyak, terjadi pada kategori sedang (>1-4 botol/ 620ml-2.480ml) yaitu sebanyak 37,8%. Berdasarkan lama konsumsi, kadar kreatinin tinggi terbanyak pada lama konsumsi > 5 tahun sebanyak 43%. Kesimpulan hasil penelitian ini sebagian besar peminum tuak mempunyai kadar kreatinin tinggi.
