Abstract
Fractures can be caused by traumatic events, such as traffic accidents or non-traffic accidents, which can result in pain. Pain is a condition that is very disturbing and often more troublesome than other illnesses. One nursing intervention that can be done to reduce pain is by applying deep breathing relaxation techniques. This study aims to analyze nursing care for patients with closed fractures of the lower extremities with the intervention of deep breathing relaxation to assess pain changes. The method used in this study is a case study that describes nursing care for patients with closed fractures of the lower extremities. The pain assessment tool used is the Numeric Rating Scale (NRS). The results of the study show that in the three patients with closed fractures, after being given the deep breathing relaxation intervention, there was a reduction in the pain scale from 4/NS to 2/NS. These findings confirm that deep breathing relaxation techniques can be effective in reducing acute pain in patients with closed fractures of the lower extremities. This approach can be an alternative for more comprehensive pain management in fracture patients.
