Abstract

This study investigates the differential impacts of gender and job level on expectations in regard to organizational and job related attributes of workers of gen Y workers. Five expectations in regard to organizational and job related attributes are examined: 1- Unusual perks, 2- Dynamic work environment, 3- Development and career, 4- Incentive compensation, and 5- Work-life balance. Data come from 354 new hired employees in the Montreal office of an international firm. Results from statistical analyses show that expectations in regard to organizational and job related attributes of gen Y workers vary along with gender and job level and the interaction of these last two factors.
