Abstract

This paper considers power generation control in variable pitch wind turbines, using an adaptive fuzzy-PID controller. The pitch angle control system was simulated using MATLAB/ SIMULINK tool to test the control strategy and performance evaluation of the system. To test the controller's performance, a wind profile has been simulated and results are validated to show that the proposed controllers are effective for power regulation. To highlight the improvements of the method the proposed controller are compared to the conventional PID controller.
