Abstract
For 1 month, rainbow trout (Salmo gairdneri) kept at 17 deg C and common carp (Cyprinus carpio) at 20 deg got semipurified diet with 20% of a wood cellulose extract which had 22% hemicelluloses and no lignin, with chromic oxide as marker. Neither cellulose nor hemicellulose was digested by either species of fish.
