Abstract
This article presents stories and reflections on an educational process that adopted the science, technology and society (CTS) approach; and transformative and critical environmental education for sustainability. The theme of the meeting was the biodiversity of the territory, with teachers and high school students, Venezuela. An analysis is presented in four descriptive bodies: interdisciplinary work through the CTS approach; Education for sustainable development in the territory; Futuristic vision of sustainable development; and The environment as a being and as a whole. The CTS approach made it possible to achieve interdisciplinary work, combining scientific, technological and cultural aspects; achieved the environmental mainstreaming of the curriculum; traditional educational practice was questioned; the communities in the institutional environment were affected; as well as achieving meaningful and collaborative learning between students and teachers.
