Abstract

Pharmacotherapy for psoriasis includes conventional systemic drugs and biological immunomodula-tors. Conventional systemic drugs are considered the first-line treatment for moderate to severe psoriasis, including methotrexate (MTX), cyclosporine, retinoid, and phototherapy. The first systemic therapy used was MTX, which was approved by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA) for the treatment of psoriasis in 19711.
