Abstract

Tres términos de mucho uso en el Perú, criollo, criollismo y criollada, son examinados en este ensayo. Los tres nos refieren a la mentalidad criolla, muy difundida en el Perú, especialmente en la región de la costa. El autor señala aspectos positivos y negativos de ella, y comenta el obstáculo que representan las características negativas para el desarrollo social del Perú. Palabras clave: Mentalidad criolla, Perú, criollismo, desarrollo social, ética   Abstract Three widely used terms in Peru, criollo, criollismo and criollada, are examined in this article. All three terms refer to the criollo mentality, which is widespread in Peru, especially in the coastal region. The author points out positive and negative aspects of it, and comments on the obstacle that the negative characteristics represent for the social development of Peru.
