Abstract

Western Balkan countries face a decisive moment in the development of their economies, societies and the environment. According to the European Environment Agency, household consumption patterns in these countries have changed rapidly in the recent years and are of key interest due to the fact that unsustainable patterns of consumption are an important cause of environmental problems. The main purpose of this paper is to add to the body of knowledge on environmental consumer profiling, especially in the context of posttransition economies. We present the results of a survey on 323 Macedonian consumers, relating their attitudes and consumption patterns to socio-demographic characteristics. (English) [ABSTRACT FROM AUTHOR]
