Abstract

This research is motivated by the function of land as a resource that can be utilised optimally for human life. The purpose of the research was to determine the actual and potential land suitability and limiting factors of rambutan plants in Bongaya District, Gowa Regency. The method used in this research is the survey method and the determination of land suitability class based on FAO with the approach of limiting factors/land characteristics. The results of the analysis of the land suitability of rambutan plants in Bungaya District, Gowa Regency that the actual land suitability of land units 9, 11, 13, 15 and 16 with the suitability class is marginally suitable (S3), while land units 12 and 14 are moderately suitable (S2), while the potential land suitability of all land units is marginally suitable (S3). Limiting factors of actual land suitability are soil depth, total N, K2O, slope and surface rock. While the limiting factors of potential land suitability are solum depth and surface rock
