Abstract
The paper presents a case study in the which it was elaborated and applied an original class using the GeoGebra for the students of the third year of high school within the discipline of Mathematics. The project was divided into three stages to evaluate possible improvements in the performance and degree of student involvement, and to evaluate the possibility and effectiveness of project extension. In the first stage, the methodology and planning of the activities to be performed were defined. In the second stage, the intervention was carried out through a classroom with methodology different from that already used by the teacher, using different devices, among them, projector, aquarium, and acrylic geometric figures. In the last step, the analysis of the results obtained and the degree of satisfaction on the part of the students were carried out, all through the questionnaires applied after the class. In this class, the introduction was made to the different measures and relations of volume, area and length, exposition of practical situations as contextualization of the matter. The results were promising, where more than 95% of the students realized the importance of this type of class. Therefore, it was concluded that the intervention was effective in the proposed objectives, but due to the short execution time it was not possible to evaluate in a more concrete way its impact on the students’ learning.
