Psychological factors of risk of suicidal behavior in adolescents

Abstract

Modern approaches towards analysis of the main psychological risk factors of adolescents' suicidal behaviour with consideration of external and internal developmental conditions in adolescence are discussed. The role of mass-media and social networks in the Internet in the genesis of suicidal behaviour is indicated. Personality factors of suicidal behaviour in the system of problems of an adolescent's identity forming, his/ her dispositional traits, as well as of personality disorders are described. The contribution of cognitive beliefs and thoughts in suicidal behaviour is noted. Typical trajectories of suicidal behaviour development are delineated.
