Abstract

The review summarizes for the first time the current concepts of the role of tyrosine phosphorylation in regulation of signal transduction pathways in unicellular eukaryotes. Evolutionary concepts are developed about the origin of protein tyrosine kinases (PTK)-signaling. © Horizon Scientific Press.
