Abstract

In this account, our recent contributions in the field of group 6 Fischer carbene complexes chemistry and their application toward the synthesis of carbocyclic and heterocyclic compounds are reviewed. Fischer carbenes participate in [2+1], [2+2], [3+2], [4+2], [4+3], [5+2] and [6+3] cycloadditions with a great variety of unsaturated systems. Additionally they constitute good Michael acceptors in the addition of different enolates, leading to the enantioselective formation of several cyclic systems as well as products derived from interesting multicomponent reactions. ©ARKAT.
