Abstract

In photoacoustic spectroscopy the incoming chopped light wave is scanned in wavelength and a corresponding spectrum is obtained. However, if a well focused light beam is spatially scanned across the sample surface, a microscopic map of the thermal properties of the sample surface is obtained.
