Abstract
The Indonesian government is carrying out a lot of infrastructure development in various sectors. Improving the quality of concrete is one of the innovations to improve the quality of infrastructure. Reactive powder concrete (RPC) is a concrete innovation without coarse aggregate and is replaced with fine aggregate to increase mix homogeneity, concrete density, and produce high-quality concrete. Fly ash as an environmentally friendly construction material is needed to prevent natural damage due to excessive use of cement. This study aims to determine the effect of fly ash variations on the compressive strength of high-quality RPC. The method used in this research is experimental. The concrete mix design uses 15% silica fume, 30% quartz sand, and 0% fly-ash variations. The concrete test object is cylindrical with a diameter of 7.5 cm and a height of 15 cm. The sample was tested at the age of 28 days. The specimens produced meet the requirements of high-quality concrete with a compressive strength of more than 41.4 MPa. The results of the compressive strength test of reactive powder concrete with variations of 0% fly-ash; 2.5%; 5%; 7.5%; 10%; and 12.5% each of 83.86 MPa; 81.83 MPa; 80.81 MPa; 76.78 MPa; 72.19 MPa; 64.90 MPa. Keywords: compressive strength, fly ash, high strength concrete, reactive powder concrete
